I have a 2015 EcoDiesel. no problems so far @ 55000 mile. Pull a 14 ft. trailer everyday with granite on it. Trailer or no trailer it is slow on take off, but once you get to around 40 you can take off with it.

I get a combined 23-24 MPG or so with mixed driving
I avg 19 with the 5.7L V8 but get 22 on HWY
I seriously wonder (but not gonna do the math) who is saving more money at the pump?

Gas burners are too reliable and efficient.

for the casual tower, most gas burners do fine. Now if I had to haul equipment every week or was still dragging horses all over the countryside every weekend, a diesel would be worth the effort/expense.
IMO, they've made the diesel trucks too expensive to operate and maintain for someone who doesn't haul heavy on the reg.
Gas burners will suffice albeit with less power, torque, etc.
