Definitely not true.

Not like that here but the service is always consistently bad. It's comical at times.

I like Canes, but it was better in the late 90s/early 2000s.
Baileys was still better then.

Ah, I was thinking that it would be comparable to the original canes on state st. I remember eating there in the fall circa 2003 thinking that Canes would tear it up in a place like Fayetteville

They're past starting IMO. The last straw for me was when I got the most expensive combo for my kid (he said he was starving) and they left part of it out. The damn thing was 12 bucks. If you're going to charge that much for a single serving order, you better make damn sure it's all there.
They sell chicken (cheap), potatoes (cheap), slaw (cheap), lemonade (you get the point)... and charge exorbitant prices for it. And then charge extra for more sauce.
I got tired of feeling ripped off. One love? Yep. Money.

I tell ya, when they opened in the 90's, that shite was off the hook, cuz noone else was doing it...the fresh, not frozen thing I guess. If they stay true to business model, then the problem is in execution. Poor employee training. shite was always fresh, hot, and the sauce was the bomb.
Sorry to hear the quality going downhill, I watched the same thing happen to Fasttrack in the 80s. But they changed their business model: was supposed to be burgers, fries, and drinks (including shakes) and that was it. Then they started adding menu items that took longer to prep (fried chicken sandwich, roast beef, turkey on wheat, etc) and that killed the quick in/out time that was the key to their success. shite started getting slammed together, orders messed up, loss of product, food cost thru the roof...Fasttrack now a memory, and a shame...cuz they had awesome burgers cheap, and 30 sec. avg. drive thru time when rolling.
The Big O was a smart addition, though. That burger rocked.

You're doing it wrong. Always trade the slaw for extra sauce.

I don't find Cane's expensive at all. A meal is 6-7 dollars

Main ingredient in sauce?
"Extra heavy" mayonnaise

Again, you just trade the slaw for extra sauce and there's no charge. Unless of course you traded the slaw for an extra piece of toast, in which case shelling out the extra cash would become necessary.

I had the caniac combo yesterday in Broussard and it was $12.

wait, they used to always let me swap slaw for toast with no charge. When did that shite start?
(I haven't eaten at Cane's in La for at least 3 yrs)
There's one in Sugarland..ate there last year, but don't remember them charging me for same swap...

I think the real big picture issue is that all fast food is pretty expensive these days. Cane's prices are no better or worse than the majority of its competition. In fact it's at least as cheap as Popeye's, and I don't ever read about anyone bitching about Popeye's prices.
Basically it's just a fricking fast food chicken joint. If you go in with realistic expectations for what it truly is, Cane's is still pretty awesome

They do, I just meant if you already traded slaw for toast, you'd have to buy extra sauce.
