in this video it doesn't appear so. The raid start @bout the :40 mark. @ 1:07 the "guy" runs for the door. @ 1:12 the coup de gras is exacted by the "cop" to the right of the entrance. It appears as though he is aiming at an angle towards the entrance and away from the "group of cops" to the left of the entrance. The "guy" is shot several more times as he lies on the sidewalk.

Anyone notice the dead guy laying there as the door rolled up? Pretty grim situation.

They sure did.
Tactically, they did a horrible job in this raid. They bunched up at the entrance (fatal funnel) and then had a cross fire situation throughout the raid. They had way too many officers bunched up in one place. They also didn't sam to breech from another location (possibly that wasn't an option). Nevertheless, they basically used the goon squad approach and got lucky that the terrorists weren't ready for the assault because there would have been a lot of dead cops.
I honestly don't know why they didn't use a sniper to do it surgically.
For those who have a hard-on against militarized law enforcement in the United States, this is why we have it. This is a huge nation and local police would indeed have to respond if God forbid, a situation like ever occurs.

our paper dubbed this the "French 9/11" this morning, a bit of a reach and possibly a bit of an insult, but maybe this is as much of a "9/11" the French can handle, glad they got the scumbags though

Good grief. And how great was our "handling" of 9/11?

sorry for the loss of life, but can you really say that compares in any way to 9/11? our lives and things we do are forever impacted by 9/11, they just had a little shoot out by comparison, similar to things that are almost a weekly occurrence in Mexico

He tried to run through the door. He might have made it if he hadn't been shot 237 times.

Anyone who knows anything about tactical situations would tell you that there were too many people involved in the situation, one man should not have went alone, when the suspect ran out there should have never been a cross fire possibility, and when the hostages ran out they should have been all apprehended to make sure that they were not the suspects. How only one man went in and a situation where the suspect running out caused a crossfire possibility is bonkers.

I hate to use a COD reference, but the first guy through looked like he had juggernaut armor on. That also didn't look like a flashbang. Looked like a grenade.
I let out an audible cheer when they capped the dude trying to run out the front door.

Having trained counterterrorism units =\= local smokies in black jumpsuits that use big guns because they got a grant from Uncle Sam.
