Props to you, brother. And good luck. Make sure you find at least one person to lean on for moral support.

thanks, T. My buddy is quitting, too.

But honestly, the OT came pretty strong with the encouragement, so if I do slip I feel like I'll be letting all y'all down as well.

Serious question : what made you think sticking that nasty shite in your mouth was a good idea?

I really don't understand the motivation to start a habit that is expensive, makes your teeth brown, causes cancer and is seen as disgusting by women.

Great life decision...

Everybody's got a bad habit. Go work on a farm for a few months then try it. You'll get it.

Many people swear by Allen Carr's book The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.

Good luck.

You try it once, start associating it with some of the repetitive tasks you do, and all of a sudden you've got a bad habit that you can't kick. It's all drugs.

Idk if I would have made it through college without it.

Good news is you actually have a choice

That's a good question. Ultimately, my grandpa did and he was my favorite person in the world. He died when I was 14 and it was my way of being close to him.

I was a nerdy soccer player and all of my friends played baseball. I was always good and. Ever tried anything. Put a dip in before I took my first drink. Wanted that feeling forever. The buzz fades and you're left with having to put a dip in or being unbearable to be around.

I quit for myself which is the biggest factor. You can't do it for anyone else. I hated being addicted to anything, so one day threw every can I had in the trash. As I said before, I still want to take a dip and God knows my fianceé came close to buying me a can. I know I wasn't on hard drugs, but she was and still is my rock to lean on. She can sense when I'm getting agitated, and she'll calm me down. You need a good support system who won't let you just take "one pinch".

Keep busy because you will gain weight. It's inevitable with all the snacks you'll need for the first couple of weeks.

I really do plan on quitting soon. I've quit for about 3 months at one point. Pretty easy after the 2 week point. Get some gum and go exercise/get outdoors be active. Good on you for quitting. How long had you been dipping?
