Yes. It has been intact since the 80’s. Draft has been gone since the mid 70’s. What point are you trying to make? Selective service enrollment does not make you part of the military.

Yes, most were forced to enlist unless they had flat feet, hearing loss or some other disability. Many ended up in the Guard

More people today should cut lawns during HS, save that money up, buy a cheap piece of land near a university, rent an apt while they work full time, go to school full time, and build their own home during lunch breaks and on saturdays. They can watch plenty of YouTube videos on it, no real skills, tools or special training is needed

Because we were fighting wars. You said had to enlist whether there were wars or not. That's not true

You wouldn't even need to buy books that cost the same amount as a car like Roger did. YouTube is free. It's even easier now!

We had the draft since WW2 until 1976 no matter if we were in a war or not

Apparently, you need a contractor's license now if you want to sell the property afterwards.

We were in a war like that entire time brah.

Edit: if you count the Cold War, we were in a war literally the entire time. But even without that we were in true combat war for nearly that entire period.

Carpentry is incredibly difficult. It does take a superpower. Its so hard to learn they require a PHD to do it.

I'm with you man, that's just too far fetched. Next thing you know, some dude will tell you he taught himself history, or welding.

Your disregard for tradesmen is very un-American. Sounds like something a Pedo grooming Lib would say

No, it’s incredibly believable I can’t count the number of 20 year old plumber/carpenter/mason/electrician/engineers I’ve met. Most of them had plenty of spare time to build entire neighborhoods while working some low level job and attending college. They all learned how to do it on YouTube.

Sweet gig, I wish I had pursued woodworking further. I could make a fortune here.

I was a tradesman, until I graduated. Draftsman, estimator then later, PM.

You shouldn't have drank yourself nearly to death, maybe you would have more time to pursue it.

First time or second time? Since you have two degrees, you know

Nah, just maximized the partying. I'm not a 140 lb shrimp as you are.

Everyone should cross the line once in a while.

I think another factor is that employees can shut down when office politics seems to become as important as the job you're doing.

I know in my office, when I see my certain coworkers clearly buddy-buddy with my supervisor, including one that doesn't seem to get reprimanded as often as me despite doing a much worse job, then it really tests your "commitment" to the work you do.

Deflecting again. Surprise, surprise.

Could you remind me again, what is your second degree in? I can't recall, economics and what?

Thats when you (grown up, not zoomer) quit, give your two weeks and find something that suits you better.

That'll suck your soul dry.

Is that why you have a different job every 6 months or so?
