quick question concerning going to New Orleans with kids

From now until the end of March I believe you can go to the aquarium and insectarium for like $2 on Tuesdays..I'm not familiar with how long Mardi Gras goes on or what areas are good and bad down there..do you think going to these places would be safe and ok with children..I know it's a long walk from parking by the aquarium to the insectarium..what's your opinion everyone?

Mardi Gras Day is Tuesday the 17th. Lent starts the next day, so things calm down quite a bit.

Park behind the aquarium across from the hotel and starbucks. Relax and have fun, we do it all the time with our kids.

You planning on trying this Mardi Gras day? That's obviously a terrible idea just for logistical reasons. Any other Tuesday will be fine.

Mardi gras ends on 2/17, I would go after that.
The two places you mentioned are really close to one another, with lots of parking by the river.
