Find a new church

I'd be more likely to look for a church that has porn and pancakes.

"porn and pancakes"

I doubt they are going to watch porn and eat pancakes

but

I'd call the church and tell them they have a fricked up name about it. It sounds creeper AF. Or go with him and tell the youth pastor that he's an idiot.

Porn and Pancakes is a straight-to-the-point talk to men about the issues of sexual sin and pornography. This 45 minute message is designed for a men's event

So you're saying there is no actual porn to be watched?

I feel like the only way to make your point is to tell teens that porn can apparently impact their actual sex life one day.

"It'll make you devalue skanks" isn't going to work, but "you might have trouble performing with your girlfriend one day" could make at least some impact.

Why not watch porn and talk about the dangers of pancakes?

It never occurred to me before but using a pancake slathered in butter to jack off with would probably feel pretty good.

From my understanding it's about tackling porn just curious if ya'll have ever heard of this being talked about in this setting. Kid is in 8th grade.

Pretty sure it's a straight shooting program on how and why pornography is dangerous but geared to older males.

Does eighth grade seem borderline sketchy to you? Granted pornography is finding its way to younger viewers. But it seems a program like this for eighth graders is one that a parent would have normally been given plenty of heads up and maybe input?

If it were me my attention would be heightened and I'd have some questions. Like can I attend with my son? If no or we'd rather you not, I'd be more wary and not let him go. If the program is any good, get the material and tackle it, you and your son together, when you deem it appropriate.

Problems sometime arise when children are separated from parents and multiple adult supervisors and become isolated under only one or two adult's influence and supervision irrespective of organization, adult(s), or program.

Pretty reluctant to post a response and butt in but I am in a church management/advisory group that have responsibility to our Priest and Bishops to be knowledgeable and wary of issues and threats to our young people. My response is based on taking those obligations seriously inside or outside our church. No offense is intended.
