re: Question: When was the last time you lived in a house with an ashtray on the coffee table?

I have an ashtray for guests who smoke that I keep within reach of the coffee table. One person, who I see every year or two, uses it.

Years ago I had an old Buick Electra, and that car had an ashtray and lighter in every door, and in the dash, and in the arm rest in the middle of the back seat.

My house is 100 years old and doesn’t smell like smoke after having survived the peak smoking population in history. One dude smoking one night out of each year or two isn’t going to ruin it.
