Since this pic its gotten a family roll bar installed, another 1in of lift and 33x10.5's put on.

Nice Bronco! I had inherited my grandfather’s 77 F100 & have done some extensive work as well.
Like someone else said, can’t really tell now much restoring will cost until he post the pics.
With all that said, check out LMC truck and ford truck enthusiast... LMC for the cheap route but Dennis Carpenter has the best OEM replacement parts that are hard to find. And I mean the hard stuff to find.

Horsepower cost money son how fast do you want to go?
First stop the rust
Then start replacing the rusted parts take your time have a place to do the work.

A 71 should have an FE engine, if it’s a V8. Could be anything from a 352, to a 428. FE’s are not cheap to build, but there is nothing like an FE for torque and even performance if that’s what you’re after. It was in the FE’s heyday that Ford was dominating everything from the NHRA with 427 Cammers, to NASCAR with both 427’s and 428’s, to LeMans with the 427 GT 40’s.
There are plenty of sources for just about everything you could need body wise, from fenders to door seals. Like others have said, it’s all about how far you want to go. You see people asking all the time how much it would cost to build an engine, and the only honest answer is “how fast do you want to go?”

It depends on if you want a daily driver or a show truck.
If it's not a rust bucket I would get it running good first.
If you can work on cars you can look on yt and learn how to fix it.
The good thing about that year, it doesn't have a computer on it.

My uncle has a 73 Bronco that is fully restored with a built 302, cut fenders, and small lift but otherwise stock and I would do anything for it. Broncos are great vehicles.
