Do you turn off the valve to the propane cylinder when you're done grilling and turn it back on every time you grill or do you just leave it on all the time?

Turn it off most of the time. Sometimes I forget.

So you enjoy fire hazards and wasted money? You can get a new valve or tank

I turn off the tank to kill the burners so I never leave the tank open by accident.

Are the burner valves themselves really THAT unreliable? We trust the ones on the inside of the house on our stove but not the ones outside our houses?

Do you turn off the main valve behind your kitchen stove every time you use it?

I don't know but I once read that turning off the tank first allows the propane in the hose to burn off and cuts down on corrosion of the hoses. I have no idea if it's true but it only takes 2 seconds so I do it anyway.

cut it off. Mine will leak out.

If yours is stuck, my advice is to go to the local Amerigas propane exchange location and swap out your bad one and hope you get a nicer newer one.
