Question for the OT - Marajuana

So I just got out of the military and I am in college. At my VA apt the doc told me I should experiment with pot for some of my medical issues. My only problem is how do I approach this with someone when I don't know anyone/know a connection? I'm already the older guy in college (29) and don't want to ask the wrong person. Any suggestions?

Are you in a big or small college town? If big, shouldn't be too hard to find a good connection. Honest tip: ask a waiter, cashier, cab or uber driver.

Trouble sleeping? Your doctor is right. Go to one of the hipster bars around the college. You'll see dudes with beards and funny hats everywhere. Ask one of them. That's a tried and true method

Small town. I am from the area but have been gone for 10 years. I smoked a bit in high school but most of my friends that have done that have stopped (while I was gone) or moved away. Can't really go seeking around in my town because everyone knows everyone and my father is the Sheriff in the county.

Yeah pretty much sleeping and chronic pain where I don't like taking narcotics. I will probably go out one of these days but I'm just a normal married dude with kids.

I had trouble with nightmares for a stretch, that was the only thing that helped me get through it. Closet marijuana smokers are all over the place too. You may know someone and not realize it. Good luck man

Huh. Interesting that a VA doc would recommend that.
That said I don't know how to go about these things myself. If you worked a service industry job there is just about always someone there who smokes or otherwise has drug connects. The only way that I would know how to get it is that I have an old friend from high school who still fricks around with that stuff. I also meet people here and there who don't exactly hide it, but I would probably go through the friend first if I were really looking for it. I guess my only advice would be to socialize, and you'll probably run into someone who smokes. A lot of people do. Then ask that person if they can hook you up or put you in touch with someone who sells.
