I did it because it was cool but then liked the buzz it gave me. smoked for 7 years but havent had one in 5 months.

When I started everyone was smoking. I seldom see people now and not much by way of young people. I quit about 14 years ago. I remember my first cigarette and my last. Best thing I ever did was quit. I can be around someone smoking and it doesn't bother me but the stale smoke does.

Same here, and I smoked only when drinking. That was fairly often.
Quit smoking, dipping and drinking all the same day

I sound like you Roger minus the quitting part
How longs did you smoke? How long ago did you quit?
I can't stand a cigarette if I'm not drinking, but I rarely drink anymore. I doubt I ever quit dipping though

Also on your breaks, do you smoke while staring into a smart phone and/ or squatting?

It was the thing to do/try growing up when I was young. I smoked for 20 years following that. I quit when my daughter was born and haven't touched one since. I miss it dearly though.

Off n on for 20 years. Took about a 2 year break at one point.

Started at around 19 because where I worked it was commonplace. Everyone took smoke breaks multiple times a day and I guess it just became a habit in the environment. About 3 years later I was walking up a flight of stairs in the BEC and was completely out of breathe at the top, thought "shite I'm way too young for this" and quit cold turkey that day.

Like I said I don't smoke unless I'm having an alcoholic beverage

You sound incredibly poor.

Stale smoke is the worst. The reason it bothers you is bc you could never smell it while you were a smoker. Stale smoke bothers everyone who doesn't smoke.

It was a mixture of curiosity and to fit in. It was an excuse to get into mischief. I also ended up just really enjoying it. It's relaxing and fun.
Had to quit though. Got tired of having the anchor tied around my neck and wasting money on it. I don't miss at all needing to have a cig all the time, but I do miss those perfect cigarette moments, e.g. after a good meal, with morning coffee, having a couple beers with a friend, etc. Unfortunately it's an all or nothing thing for me.

Mr Puritan over here. How's it like living in fear of what the person next you is thinking about you?

Same here. They're pretty terrible when sober
I smoked a lot in my early '20s. Now it's only if I'm out drinking. I want to quit all together, but once I crack a beer or pour a drink, it's way too hard.

OP hates on SJW's, then whines about smokers. It's their health, mind your own business, and get off my lawn!

Sorry I wrecked your party Lt. Dan...she smelled like cigarettes

Started when I was 12. Smoked for 26 years. Quit because I promised my son I would. Slowly gained weight over the first 5 years of not smoking. Now making an effort to get rid of the extra fluffyness.
