Can't find what I am looking for at Amazon.

Are there any "Amazon like" stores that specialize in outdoor lawn equipment?

I'm looking to buy the Echo PAS-225 gas trimmer, edger and blower attachment.

At Echo, the gas trimmer is $189.99, whereas Home Depot wants $236.25.

I'm also buying a 6-pack of TruFuel 2-Cycle 50:1 Pre-Blended Fuel.

Recommendations on where to buy on-line? Or should this be a local purchase?

I've heard bad things about using the pre blended fuel.

I've read just the opposite. Even stores for up to 2 years inside the trimmer with no issues.

The guy at the local hardware store told me it wasn't as good as mixing it yourself.

I used a can of premix and it worked fine but I'm back to mixing myself.

I don't know shite about engines so...

Can't go wrong with Echo or Stihl, both are rock solid brands. Owned both over the years with 0 issues.

Acme tools. I just bought the p230 for cheaper than HD was selling the 225 or whatever. The easy start is very nice.

LOL 20 responses that don't answer the OP question. Typical.

You must have caught it when the 230 was on sale? I just looked and it's $289 for the PAS-230 and $199 for the PAS-225.

I ended up buying mine local at Dave's equipment in Denham. Same price as Home Depot but he took care of all the warranty paperwork and told me to just bring it in if there are any problems and he would take care of it.

Of course I was just choosing between Home Depot and a local small engine shop when I was buying.

I got my names wrong. I got the srm 230, not pas.

And you're right, it must have been on sale. Pretty big sale. I was really wondering why people were buying the HD srm225 over Acme Srm230.

I've had both and both are great machines. I also swear by Tru fuel too. I buy mine on Amazon by the case.

Pre mixed fuel is better.
I have 4 shops and we see a lot less issues with pre mixed fuel.
99.9% of the issues we see are ethanol fuel damage, fuel oil not mixed correctly, or old fuel in units.

The village idiot at the hardware store probably does not work on the units. Some mfg test units with premixed fuel.

I have a pas 225 I bought at HD. Also have the edger and blower attachment works great with the Tru Fuel. The easy load line trimmer is a nice feature. Can't remember what I paid for it originally but I thought it might have been on sale. Good luck

I just ordered a 6 pack from Amazon. About $35. Free shipping.

Well at least came clean where you got your info

Hardware store guy is FOS. Tru-fuel is great if you just need a small amount of fuel per year. Myself I use probably 7 gallons of mixed fuel per year so I diy.

To OP, I bought my last weedeater off ebay. Also, fuel may be something that cant be shipped.

it's not like HD will be doing any warranty work, unless you just want to return it outright

Price wise, HD is about $37 more expensive than buying it online from Echo. I am trying to avoid the price match protection forms I have to fill out with my Discover card.

that's what I was getting at, I'd order it online because chances are you'll be getting another one in a couple of years

That's how I view them. They are disposable to me. Hope they last forever, but don't mind buying a new one every 5-6 years.

that's the way I look at them, I've been using them for a long time, I take care of them , start them up all year, keep new plugs in them, still don't seem to get much life out of them anymore
