Why do all these pumps suck arse? Does the city own the pumps and maintain them?

Why would one power source supply 4 out of 5 stations and 80% of the East Bank?

From what I remember the feds paid for this pumping system and then turned it over to the city to maintain. The city then proceeded to wipe their arse with the pumping system.

Someone didn't watch the city Council meeting. It's exactly that deep.

I doubt they have many people actually making decisions who know a whole lot about turbines. Or preventing floods in general. A whole bunch of them probably don't even understand the whole "water goes down hill" thing, much less "it's going to take 3 weeks to overhaul that turbine maybe we should do one at a time"

You got an alert that let you know that Mitch Landrieu was about to do some grandstanding and you need to be aware that

Good news, your car didn't flood. Bad news, it was stolen.

LINK

Just wait till they receive late notice on the parking tickets they got before the theft.

Yep, total embarrassment. Now they are closing some public schools today due to the potential bad storms and not being able to drain quickly enough. How they did not take care of the catch basins , wow.

They expect the flooding to be bad.
