Man, grandson escape house fire; Authorities say hoverboard in garage is to blame

quote:

A man and his grandson escaped a house fire after a fire started in the garage. Authorities say a hoverboard is to blame.

According to the City of Adamsville officials, the Adamsville Fire Department was able to save the home from being destroyed by keeping the fire contained in the garage area. Authorities are advising the the public not to store any type of hoverboard devices in your home or garage.

No one was injured in this fire.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC) there have been more than 250 hoverboard fire incidents related to fires or overheating since 2015.

In March 2017, a 2-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl died in a house fire ignited by a hoverboard in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
