why wouldn't every country offer up 250 of their craziest soldiers to find and deal with (humanely of course) all of these scammers? That's a world task force worth supporting.

This is what I am wondering as well. There’s nothing intrinsic to the card that is useful. You have to pay the cashier cash to load the card and then you get a receipt with an activation code on it. No one but you and the cashier has access to the activation code, so it is pretty easy to know who perpetrated any fraud.

gift cards are a scam. Why would you take cash and exchange it for a card you can only use in one store? I value the fungibility of cash
