If you don’t get regular colonoscopies as suggested then you’re an idiot. Fact.

For anyone delaying it, I had my first a year ago. Let me tell you, it was actually enjoyable in the weirdest way. You have NO idea that it happened to you and you’ll get the best sleep of your life. The prep for it isn’t that bad either, regardless of how dramatic people make it sound.

This was my experience as well. Mine was a year and a half ago and I can still feel the awesomeness of that sleep.

Had mine Friday. 46yo. The prep i had was Clinpiq. Really easy, 2 6oz bottles followed by 5 8oz glasses of water or clear liquid.

I was pretty nervous leading up to it, but it was nothing. The prep was easy, the Propofol was amazing, and no polyps.

I've been putting it off for a year and half but there's really no reason to.

I had my first one last December. I dreaded it with a passion, I even feared it. But I had to do it because I had a positive Cologuard test.

As it turned out it was no big deal. I have to go back in a year. Now I just look at it is an inconvenience and nothing else.

I really don't understand Cologuard. Their own commercial says, Can give false positives AND false negatives.

So how do you trust any result?

Just get the colonoscopy.

If you are over 45 years of age, get that colonoscopy done ASAP. It could be a lifesaver.

Absolutely. Turn 45 next year. My grandfather had colon cancer in his 50’s I’m told.

Colonoscopy might be one of the biggest overused "preventative" cares out there.

The research just doesn't support the practice, even when backed by people who benefits from doing these things every 5 years.

A less invasive screening test is way more appropriate (CT, DNA analysis of stool), and then hopefully in the next few years the blood testing to identify these colon cancer markers comes online. We have the technology, validating it in the US is a MAJOR PITA.

Im scared to get one because I've been hearing bad things about colonoscopy's lately from podcasts and an article my wife sent me a few months back. Still a lot of uncertainty with them and even problems they could cause.

How bout you look up Colon Cancer and see if you read bad things about that.

Im not pro vaccine or anything like that, but the length some go through to disprove any helpful medical procedures is beyond me.

Its honestly nothing and very well could save your life. With all the shite in food today, you definitely want to know if its caused any problems.

How much does it hurt, honestly?

Not at all. I just had my first a few weeks ago. Once you get to the hospital that part is easy as pie. When they are getting you ready in the surgical area, you pretty much go out and next thing you know you woke up and it's over.
