Sound advice!
My son's capacitor crapped out and two weeks later mine crapped out in the upper unit.
My two units use the same types capacitor and same type contactor. Will be grabbing one of each as spares.

This is total BS and completely wrong. Capacitors go out on their own regularly. It's one of the top 3 things to fix/ maintain on a residential HVAC unit. Yes it could be a sign of something else, but more often than not they just go bad on their own.

I started my career at Acme Refrigeration of Baton Rouge on S. Choctaw. I also managed the Atlas Refrigeration in Baton Rouge. I was on the wholesale side of the biz for 30+ years.

I actually work for ACME Refrigeration. I started at the store of Pennywood but I'm out in Gonzales now. Small world.
