I think FORD would have a big problem with a policy like this. Keep in mind most dealers live in an adversarial relationship with corporate. I'd call somewhere up the chain of command and see if top-down pressure gets applied. You want to sell Fords? You are going to service them.

This. Dealerships are required by law to do recall work for anything under 15 years. LINK

Along with that, they are paid by the dealership for the parts and labor to do the work. Check the VIN site from Shexter's post and if they reported having done the work then you can either:

-Let them know they didn't do the work so they can either do it, and verify the truck works, or you will report them for fraud. You can also let them know the NHTSA's laws doesn't give a frick about their "2016" bullshite.

-Save yourself the headache and just go ahead and report them to Ford. If you're really pissed about it (and you should be), you can spend a few minutes blasting them on reviews (google, etc) once you get a report back from Ford.

I never thought a service department would be the reason I avoided a make of vehicles but Banner Ford in Mandeville did just that. The incompetency of their service department was second to none.

I am going to bend and take it to my repair guy. I’ll tell him the situation and maybe he can tell if it’s been done. Then tell me or not if the current problem should have been fixed in the recall. Idk. Will let y’all know.

Looked it up,definitely a recall.Dealer is supposed to do the required software update or diagnostic repair at no cost to the owner,
They get paid by Ford,I don’t see what’s the problem.

AI says it’s usually caused by the transmission OSS,makes the computer misread the truck’s speed.

You Tube has videos showing how to replace.

the recall only updates the software, but doesn't actually fix the problem. You need to call a local transmission shop and get them to change the lead frame. It is something they probably do 3-5 a month and will be very familiar with the issue

The computer reprogram recall? They kept it a WEEK for that?

My dealer did that in 2 hours on my 2014 F150.

I took my 2017 in for an oil change and this same recall was open and my dealer acknowledged but I believe they told me they didn't have a fix for that one yet. This was probably 2-3 weeks ago.

I had two recalls open at the time......I think the one you are talking about they told me there wasnt a fix yet.

Lead Frame

Known issue by Ford, they will hassle you over replacement on an "out of warranty repair" as mentioned earlier, don't deal with the local Ford dealer, go direct to the Ford motor corporation.

My 2014 down shifted from 5th to 1st.
