Byron Pop festival. It was hot that day. Hippy girls removing their clothes and jumping into a snake infested creek. MJ made the dehydration i.e. "cottonmouth" intense. Thankfully, there were caring people, people that give and want nothing in return.

My father and I drove through this mass of humanity (est.100,000), looking for my older sister.

Father: "Look at all this shite". "This is as fricked up as Hogans goat". "All these hippies smoking dope and getting naked".

I'm thinking if I should suggest to my father if I should get out of the car. Better to split up our recon to double our perimeter surveillance. Nope.

I guess but I’m a millennial and pretty awesome so I still don’t get it.

Every one of those pictures just oozes culture in a way you don’t really see anymore. Maybe it’s hard to have a perspective on culture while you’re in the moment but the world just seemed so much more unique back then.

sometimes nostalgia makes the past seem cooler than it was, but in a lot of cases, I think we've morphed into something ugly and vanilla, my take on why I think we've regressed? PC of course, but plain and simple: internet and social media, of course you have to throw the cell in there too because it's linked up to all of that
