Pretty cool 360° VR video from a weather balloon launched by Hurricane Track

They have been out on the Plains over the past few days testing their weather balloon camera/instrument setup. They just posted this video that is a 360° view of the first 8:30 of the flight. This is the rig they hope to ultimately launch in the eye of a hurricane.

I figured it would have a higher rate of climb. It had to struggle to clear those power lines as it took off.

It normally would. They're using a new frame and are experimenting with the amount of helium they use.

You'd think they would've mounted that camera without the rope in front of it..
