they have to sometime cutoff lines when fixing others

Happened to me a few years ago. Power company told me several dickheads on my part of the grid had hard wired their generators into their boxes and they weren’t built for that.
They said that was the cause of a transformer blowing and that those dickheads could have killed someone. They said they were considering a lawsuit to pay for the transformer.
Take that with a grain of salt. Got it from a linesman that was working and I asked why the power went back out.

Prob have to shut off lines to restore others. Might be hazardous to connect lines to already energized lines but I’m no lineman.

After Lily here in Laffy I went through 24 hours of "on and off". On for a few minutes or an hour then off again for three. Be patient. It's a good thing.

This. Got power on Tuesday night and went off Wednesday morning until late afternoon. They were tying in other areas and had to de-energize it for the afternoon. As far as I know it’s been on since yesterday afternoon and hasn’t gone off today.
