At what point does the state and leadership decide to make the investment to finally put power lines UNDER ground like the rest of the modern world?

If people would let the power companies cut/trim the trees in the ROW, a large portion of above ground line damages could be avoided.

But you have people telling them “You’re not cutting my trees!”

My neighborhood has underground utilities. Power out. Although, I think that has to do more with adjoining neighborhoods with above ground than issues with ours being below.

There really is no reason not to bury all power lines except for the failed leadership of Louisiana

It’s expensive as all frick to do it, and it can be extremely hard and expensive to have to repair lines underground if they break somehow. Parts of southeast Louisiana, downtown New Orleans, have underground lines.

I’ve looked into it after just regular rain storms that knock down lines sometimes, and from all accounts, if a line is broken, there’s no way to see where the break is and they have to dig up the whole line.

90% of all deadly wildfires in CA over the last 10 years were caused by PG&E power lines.

Considering the billions in damages and loss of lives you'd think the state would have taken action.

Some states just like to pocket money and pass the buck.

Wouldn't that lead to the state being overtaken by night crawlers?
