I think the biggest mistake was putting up a fence instead of a wall. I really think that matters.
If you go back to 1997-2000, you had four new limited access neighborhoods planned and built.
The one behind walls, with no gate built up quickest, then the two with security, the one with no walls and no security has just a few houses. But hell yeah I would still buy there.
You have a Catholic school and a charter school being built right there. It's going to be a hot area for well to do families.

Chateau, Woodlake, Pontchatrain Place, Gabriel are all above average income subdivision. Some have plenty money.
Police are second to none.
Plenty Saints players live in Kenner.
You’re close enough to New Orleans and Metairie, without having to deal with Metairie traffic.
It’s quiet. There are quite a few festivals each year out near the lake.
Laketown has really come up in the last 10 years.
Coconut Beach is out near the lake.
It’s a pretty safe and family oriented city. You’ll enjoy it.
Good description. As a former Kenner alum, I agree with this.
That said you will still most likely pay for private catholic schools to give the kids a good education.
If you have sons the great high school on Carrollton and Banks is still driveable.

There was once a great middle school in City Park run by some Christian Brothers. No shortage of tales to tell about that place

Possibly moving to Kenner
Why? Where do you currently live?
Look at it like this....BR is the shithole (toilet), it starts there and ends up in New Orleans after passing thru Kenner.
Any questions?

My kids public school is rated higher than any Catholic school in the area. So there is that.
Just hard to get into.

Short of Metairie Academy & Ben Franklin, the list starts shorten dramatically, at least thats how it was when I was in the New Orleans area.

Kenner Discovery.
A rated. STEM programs.
They just stared a high school last year.
It's a relatively new school. But a lot of people have moved kids from SEAS and Neri to there.

We probably know at least some of the same people. Brother Amity passed away when I was there, and Brother Justin was principal. I really liked almost all of my teachers there- Brothers Alfred, Raphael, & Mr Don Rowan were really great.
But I think that brand of Catholic education is dying or already dead- Brother Justin was known for flipping desks with sleeping students inside of them, and Brother Raphael liked to make students kneel outside on the hot concrete praying the rosary for half hours at a time, and whacking them with a cane if they dared turn around in the middle of class

It's near the airport, so you have to deal with that. There are some kind of bad areas, but it's mostly ok for crime. Just have to do your research and looking around. Schools you will have to do private or parochial like most of the New Orleans area. Some good magnet schools around, but as a generality you need to move to Destrehan or North Shore for good public schools.

1. Trade in whatever vehicle you currently drive for a mustang or a camaro
2. shave your head
3. get tattoos
4. buy a loud stereo system for your car, should cost 25% of what the car itself costs
5. throw away all of your shoes, and replace them with white ones
6. enjoy your new life
