As someone who moved from BR 8 years ago, I would suggest renting a house/apartment for 6-12 months and figure things out.

Have a buddy who lives off of bw8 & Phillipine St, north side, nice neighborhood. It would be a cake drive from that area.

The OT will have varying opinions but I would recommend Heights or W. Dallas near Allen Parkway area if budget for rent is $1100-1500/month. Its inside loop and near all up and coming restaurants, bars and professional groups galore have events weekly.

1960 in general is Urban. Well Ubran, then old white people, then Mexicans.

like any city, the suburbs function as their own. if you're planning on living out there, then the massiveness of Houston won't really hit you unless you come into the city on the weekends and such.
it's a huge city for sure, but you'll find yourself adjusting to it after a little while.

I’ve seen you post on O&G topics on here before so I can guess who you’re getting on with if it’s on Cutten. Congrats, I’ve heard great things as far as a place to work.
There’s fairly nice apartment complexes right by Vintage Park off 249/Louetta with an HEB and some other nice shite (Alamo Drafthouse El Tiempo) right there if you want max convenience/short commute and looking to rent
I reverse commuted from inside the loop to near where you’re working for a year and it really wasn’t bad if you want to rent in the city.

You want to buy a house or rent an apt?
If buying, Tomball and Cypress north/east of 290 make sense.
I might look at Bridgeland as well.

A lot of Mexican restaurants and fat kids in cargo shorts and JJ Watt jerseys.

Everything to the East of 249 on Cypresswood flooded..and a good amount to the West also, during Harvey.
Also, those areas flooded from less heavy rains twice in 2016.

This is 100% correct. If you like going out in the city and relaxing whatever that is for you baw, I'd not recommend burbs. The city is the spot especially if your single or not married. The commute is important though.

This ^
FM 1960 is pretty much the cutoff for urban (south) vs non-urban (north).
Pro tip-don't speed on Cutten Road between 1960 & Cypresswood.

thanks. i was blown away from the first phone interview. really seem to have their shite together. was refreshing to hear that accountability is still taken seriously in the work place. if your guess is right they are doing it the correct way right now.

There's a lot of HP dorks in the area as well. Get ready for that.
