Being annexed by Houston was definitely the opposite of his vision, I do agree it's changed quite a bit from the good old days though, not a quiet suburb anymore. It's a small city unto itself

Quite a few wealthy Mexicans have second homes in The Woodlands or have moved their families over entirely. Because The Woodlands is a very "new money" area compared to places inside the loop it was kind of the area they could get into. I don't think typecasting the entire group is fair at all, some are great people and some are extremely stuck up. I think with the latter group, the issue is not being used to living in a community with a lot of other well educated and well off folks.

I would be able to afford my own apartment, but I'm looking to minimize my cost of living in order to maximize my savings potential before the family joins me.
