WBR has some great school and great leaders in the central office. They are light years ahead of surrounding parishes with technology as well.

There was a lack of employment opportunities in the NOLA area for a while after the storm.
Still is. For being the largest city in the state they are not competing well with Austin, Nashville, Tampa, etc...

About a decade ago they were ahead of the curve but other districts have caught up and surpassed them.

75% of homes will be back up to where they were in 1-2 years max.

Predictions:
80% Remain in location, 10% Leave area entirely, 10% Relocate to EBR/WBR.
Impacted people who planned on retiring in 2020 now changing retirement goal to 2023.
Infill projects with vertical build components continue to gain traction in EBR, especially among families without kids or with grown kids who don't want the headache of home ownership.
OT conspiracy theorists who have spent most of the past 8 months wondering why EBR was building thousands of new student apartments will formulate a theory that local developers can control the weather, and thus flooded the suburban Parishes to increase rental demand in EBR.

Well yeah, for college grads, this has been true for many years.

Ha. My FIL lives near 73/74 and told me it took 1 hr 10 min to get from his house to I-10 at 73. And this is Dutchtown schools still closed.

But not the schools. It just doesn't work that fast.
