Actually they look like twins
With a normal haircut, clothes, and a beard (they both have one) they don't look all that unfortunate, just normal red head unfortunate

Ever had 7 Moons red blend? I was gifted a bottle for a party not too long ago and really enjoyed it. $10 a bottle around here.

A master somm will blind taste and tell you specifics right down to vintage and region.
I believe sommelier might be used lightly in these studies.
Besides, a somm 1 is typically a waiter at a fine restaurant.

No, but I can see why everyone liked it.
That's a BIG ole merican wine.

I'd like to address the wine conversation in here.
Prices of wines are actually a good guide as to quality, but there are absolutely exceptions all over the pricing scale.
There are certainly a few $20-$30 bottles that could be mistaken for $100 bottles and vice versa.
However, in my vast alcoholism experience, I haven't found a <$10 bottle that can mistaken for anything other than what it is. The Black Box wine is fricking atrocious.

In a sneaky study, Brochet dyed a white wine red and gave it to 54 oenology (wine science) students. The supposedly expert panel overwhelmingly described the beverage like they would a red wine. They were completely fooled.

how the research went down. First, Brochet gave 27 male and 27 female oenology students a glass of red and a glass of white wine and asked them to describe the flavor of each. The students described the white with terms like "floral," "honey," "peach," and "lemon." The red elicited descriptions of "raspberry," "cherry," "cedar," and "chicory." A week later, the students were invited back for another tasting session. Brochet again offered them a glass of red wine and a glass of white. But he deceived them. The two wines were actually the same white wine as before, but one was dyed with tasteless red food coloring. The white wine (W) was described similarly to how it was described in the first tasting. The white wine dyed red (RW), however, was described with the same terms commonly ascribed to a red wine.

My wife really likes the 19 Crimes Dark Red blend. It's like $10-12 at most stores around here.
Yeah I’ve seen that one before but haven’t tried it yet. I do like their regular red blend. It’s my go to cheap wine when I need to bring a bottle to book club. Everyone always likes it.

I call those my 3+ bottles deep wines. For when you're too buzzed to even taste anymore.

I’ve seen studies where sommeliers blind tested wines and and couldn’t even tell the difference between red and white.
This seems like propaganda... the smell is different, texture, bitterness... the person who couldn't tell has to be a retard.

I just know the ones I like
I agree. I mainly stick with the ones I like. One of my favorites is a 20 dollar bottle. It doesn't have to be expensive.

An actually master somm would never fall for this. They drink white pinot noirs and tell you exactly what it is every time.

Definitely doesn't matter as much with a buzz.
It will matter in the morning though.

I've had quite a few...I've had ghost, pliny..a few other big time notable IPA's people said I needed to try. I just don't get it. I can't judge though. A lot of people cringe at the barrel proof bourbon I drink neat and say I'm drinking gasoline...to each their own...but I just really don't get why that flavor is appealing.
