So, Oprah giving $100,000
Is equivalent to a family/person making $120,000/Year giving $4.29

Oprah at $2,800,000,000.
OT Poor at $120,000.

So, if a person feels like donating $4 bucks for every $100K the Big O throws down...go for it.

She gave 5 million, so that would be the equivalent of $200

I have given $0

I'm literally and factually not wrong, you gotta make sense here. You're not doing that.

Same

Difference is, i'm not whining that Oprah didn't give enough because I gave exactly $0.

I've given zero as well. If Hawaii donations were as easy to launder and embezzle as Ukraine Aid; Hawaii would be flush.

What exactly is the L he's taking here?

I just see him pointing out that she's given money herself but is also doing what other celebrities have done in using her fame to bring attention to the issue and garner donations.

Again, you don't have to like Oprah. But complaining that she didn't donate "enough" or that she's doing something others aren't also doing is silly.

I hate that I find myself defending shel here and there, but here we are. Exactly how is he melting down in this thread?

Some of you people have groupthought yourselves into complete idiocy.

If there's 1 thing I've learned, there's a few certain people who fricking HATE when i'm correct, like in this thread.

Then they get pissy and stop arguing facts and just get super emotional, like we're seeing a few posters here on this page and last page.

That dude and others do not care about facts at this point.

It's a lot easier to see through the bullshite now. Thanks to social media, we know both Oprah and Dwayne are left wing elitist pawns. frick them.

FWIW, you make this exact post a lot more than you do the opposite.

I think you are over inflating your value. I didn’t even read the thread.

My point about emotional posters being emotional...perfectly proven here.

It's pretty clear where the agendas lie.

Jerry Lewis telethons - cool
Bunch of celebrities on TV getting donations for our friends & families for Katrina - cool
Dolly Parton doing a telethon - Cool
Oprah asking for money - OH MY GOD, HOW DARE SHE!!!

I don't believe there are any underlying agendas here.

The heyday of the Jerry Lewis telethon was decades ago. Katrina was almost 20 years ago, and the Dolly telethon was nearly 7 years ago.

We currently live in a rough economy where many folks are struggling, and trust in the government and media are at all time lows. We also have recent examples of the American Red Cross in Haiti, Wounded Warrior Foundation, and BLM squandering donations on everything but their stated intentions.

Rightly or wrongly, people are going to resist rich celebrities and politicians asking them to part with their money right now.

This is what I mean. How stupid is that comment? (Answer: completely)

Are you so blinded by politics that you refuse to agree with ANYBODY that has a different political affiliation than you? I'm a Republican, but if a Republican said some asinine shite and a Democrat said something rational, in what world should I roll with the idiot solely because he agrees on some of the same political bullshite as I do?

Some of you have lost your fricking minds and refuse to see things in any other lens than red/blue. It's fricking weird.

Just further proving exactly what I said in this thread to be factual.
