You don't need to use cruise control to avoid being inconsiderate to other drivers. It's really pretty simple.
People who don't use cruise control inconvenience me by speeding up as I'm passing them, making me speed up, or slowing down in front of me, making me pass them.
If 95% of people driving on Interstate used their fricking cruise, you'd see an immediate improvement in traffic flow.
Plus, you get better gas mileage.

How often do you pass people on the right?

No, but if i have the cruise on, there could another step needed before an incident. Plus i tend to be a little more relaxed and distracted while on cruise.

As you explain, I try to use it but idiots frick it up by shitty driving.
We’re never getting flying cars with so many fricking idiots that can’t simply comprehend to Get The frick Out of The Left Lane.

I spend 95% of the time in the right lane. Cruise set on 75.
I wish more people did that. I typically set my cruise at 85 and can’t tell you how many times I have to fricking slow down or pass people in the right lane because they have their cruise set at 70 in the left lane and refuse to get over.

I could literally set my cruise at 82 the whole way from Lafayette to Shreveport with the exception of going through Alexandria.
The only place I can use it in south La on an interstate is between LC & Lafayette until about Crowley. The rest of the interstate routes in south La are full of idiots in that left lane.

Yes so when I blow my load in your wife’s mouth while getting road head I don’t wreck my F250.

People that don’t use cruise control shouldn’t be allowed to drive on the interstate between cities.
We;re not talking about in Baton Rouge, New Orleans or Houston here. We're talking between Alexandria and Lafayette on 49, between Lafayette and BR on 10, and between Ruston and West Monroe on 20.
If you can't keep your car at one speed, take the side roads.

Wow, you are pretty impressive.

I basically drive with my cruise control, it's easy to go faster and slower with the buttons.

I'm seeing inside the head of the guy that rips down the right lane only to cut off someone getting in the left lane and causing the 10 cars he passed to hit the brakes. All while telling himself they are the problem.

bullshite.
It's bullshite that without cruise control one cannot avoid being a dick to other drivers through very simple measures? You didn't even address any of my explanations that followed. All you did is point out that other drivers are idiots, which obviously is the underlying issue, not cruise control.

Yeah, no fricking shite, because that takes driving decisions away from the morons. Ipso facto, the problem is we have too many idiots and douchebags who can't follow basic driving procedures.

CC is essentially worthless on the interstate in BR
You are more likely going to need Brake Control instead of Cruise Control there.

Or just get a car with adaptive cruise. It will seriously solve every problem mentioned so far.
Add in true stop and go and it's the tits. I use mine in heavy traffic. Set the cruise and don't touch the brake or accelerator for about 10 miles of my commute. Occasionally will have to hit the resume button on the wheel if we stop and sit still too long.

I did see u this morning as I flew over you in my copter. You need to speed it up slowpoke!

Driving between Ruston and Monroe, I'm right there with bhtigerfan, driving 75 in the right lane with the cruise on. I used to drive 85 or 90, but am no longer the baller I was before getting old.
The problem with a lot of the people on the interstate is they are what I call sheep. They won't ever speed on their own, and they don't have the balls to keep up with people driving 80 or 90. When somebody passes them, they speed up. They fall in line behind the ballers driving 85, and pass me.
Then they gradually slow down, and get behind a car going slower and drop to that car's speed. Sometimes the wife may tell them they're going too fast and they slow down to between 60 and 70. After I slowly pass them going 75, their anticipatory salivation begins, they yelp, "Oh boy, oh boy!" and speed past me. A mile or two down the road the wife gets on them again or they catch up to a slow car, and we repeat the same thing over again. God forbid another 80 mile an hour guy dives by again.
I used to speed up to 90 and get far enough ahead of their dangerous driving arses that they'd never catch up again. Most of the time I'm driving now is taking my 87 year old dad, or my 83 year old mom to doctor's appointments in Monroe, Shreveport or Lafayette. I'm not going to drive 85 or 90 with them in the car.
