Is Melissa a good woman?

Authorities say a woman drove drunk to a New Jersey police station where she was picking up a man who had been charged with drunken driving.

Extremely plausible given most people don’t drink alone

Had a similar situation happen to me. My sober buddy decided to drive us home from the bar because I was hammered. Cop pulls us over. He wasn't worried, because he only had two drinks at the bar. The DWI Task Force cops decided he was way too drunk to be driving, and took him to the bus. They gave me the FSTs, and told me I was good to go, even though I was shitfaced.
So I went on about my business and drove home. Continued drinking, and the cop calls my cell phone 30 minutes later telling me to come pick my buddy up from the DWI bus. In the background, I heard my buddy yell, "Don't, they're gonna arrest you!". I told the cop that I wasn't gonna pick my dude up, and that since he took him, it was his job to bring him back.
A few minutes later, the cop comes rolling down my street in Southdowns going like 50, opens the back door, tells my buddy to GTFO, and hauls arse away.
I'm assuming the cops baited this drunk chick into coming to pick up the guy. She was just dumb enough to fall for it. Two birds with one stone

Was pretty sketchy leaving the parking lot. I wanted to sleep in the truck, and they told me they'd tow it if I didn't go home. Took the chance, and it worked out
Eta: It was leaving The Cove

quote:Just to clarify, you are a very selfish, shitty person for driving drunk.
So I went on about my business and drove home.

Not surprising. I've been in situations where the cop made a drunker person drive because they deemed the driver too drunk. wtf.

Back in my old Bayou days, we'd send a sober "ringer" out to the hill to create a diversion. He'd get in the car and turn on the wipers and flashers, and keep breaking. The cops would all descend on him while all us drunks would drive off.
