Murder is an intentional act. You can’t convince me this police officer intended to murder someone.
You almost - almost have this right. It's just that you don't get to define murder to fit your own beliefs. But Texas gets to define it.
"Sec. 19.01. TYPES OF CRIMINAL HOMICIDE. (a) A person commits criminal homicide if he intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence causes the death of an individual.
(b) Criminal homicide is murder, capital murder, manslaughter, or criminally negligent homicide.
Sec. 19.02. MURDER.
. . .
(b) A person commits an offense if he:
(1) intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual;
(2) intends to cause serious bodily injury and commits an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual; or
. . ."
Did she intentionally shoot someone who then died? If so, then it's murder under Texas Law. Everything that I have read seems to suggest that she intentionally pulled the trigger, i.e., she was actually trying to shoot the victim and succeeded in shooting him, which caused him to die. And she clearly wasn't justified in doing so.
