I'm usually one to play Devil's Advocate, but if you pull a gun on ANYONE who has a gun, you should expect them to pop you before you pop them. Running or not, you're a direct threat.

Police say one of them, Tevin Lewis, pulled out a gun, so they opened fire hitting him in the back.
But witnesses say Lewis wasn't pointing that gun at anyone, and was running from police when he was shot.
Because turning around and firing a shot at the police isn't possible.

I was on the side of the guy that got shot until I read the part about him pulling a gun on the cops.
Does anyone actually think that pulling a gun on a cop isn't going to end up in the cop firing? If someone pulls a gun on me and then runs away, I'm shooting until they are out of range or I am out of bullets. It takes a fraction of a second for them to turn around and start spraying at you.
LPD will be cleared of this, assuming the gun was actually pulled on them. They should be.
