They have a pretty awesome subreddit with a bunch of prosecutors and detectives. It's pretty damn interesting.

I think Adnan may be guilty but from what we've been told, I don't think they had enough to convict him.

I just recently concluded he's guilty.

In one comment, when explaining why he's frustrated at his conviction, he says something along the lines of "I mean, maybe if it was a crime of passion, or if there was other evidence, like if she had fought back or something...."

He would rationalize that away saying he was referencing a situation in which she fought back and there was DNA evidence. But the way he said it stuck out to me immediately.

I think he said that because its so frustrating that there is no evidence and he still got convicted. Like he's losing hope because they already convicted him with such little evidence that how could be possibly get it overturned now.

I thought him getting mad about people saying he was too nice to do the crime because him being a nice guy won't get his conviction over turned. Made me think he's innocent.

He seems very calm about it, almost like he's just chatting about someone else. I'm not sure what that means. Is he a sociopath? Has he had enough time in jail to where he's just more interested in facts rather than emotional arguments? I don't know, it's weird. I can't really put myself in his shoes.

I'm thinking he had a role in it for sure and knew she was dead. Why else would he not ever try to contact her after her disappearance when they had been talking everyday?

That was his intention I'm sure. But the way he said it is what I'm talking about.

I do think the evidence is scant, and as an attorney I hate when prosecutors fabricate motives, but I do think he did it.

SPOILERS

Other things I have trouble with are the cell pinging in the park and the call to that girl.

I think one of the reasons I don't trust him is because I can see myself just like him. If I killed someone and had 15 years with which to deconstruct the case against me, I'd speak and rationalize and overjustify just like him.

Yeah, I never got it a full understanding of how much they were talking. I thought it was more like they'd meet up to frick every now and then.

I tend to lean on the side of him having something to do with it but I don't know how much and Jay just seems so shady.

The shite that turned me against Jay was when he said he didn't turn in Adnan because he was scared Adnan would turn him in for selling weed. Plus the whole "criminal element of Woodlawn" shite seemed so scripted.

Yeah I could see that. I just have no idea how I would react if I was wrongly accused for 15 years so I can't say whether or not his demeanor is strange.

From the way he talks I think Adnon did it, but I couldn't convict him on the evidence they had at trial.

The fact that it is basically one guy saying he did it but the guy's story doesn't add up and changes all the time. Not a great testimony. Prosecutors didn't let the jury hear about the shifting story though.

The fact that he changes his story from the original taped interview where they went to the second park to smoke weed to where they just smoked weed in the car in his trial story is shady to me. Apparently they never would have been able to make it to the park in the time allotted but he was on tape telling the cops that's what happened. He has all kinds of specific details in it too. Just weird.

He's been in prison for nearly 15 years. He may be a bit shocked that someone with no relation to him has taken such a huge interest in this case.

I still have a hard time understanding how he was convicted of this crime [Mainly because of Jay's testimony].

Also, I read on reddit last week that Jay deleted his facebook recently. No clue if it has something to do with the attention that this case has been getting.

I still don't understand how the two detectives took Jay's testimony seriously after he lied multiple times. It's also interesting how Jay tries to disassociate himself from Adnan in some of the early episodes. He even calls Adnan his "ex-friend". Meanwhile, Adnan has no ill feelings toward Jay.

I also thought it was weird that it was Jay's girlfriend's birthday but he didn't even really care to spend much time with her.

For some reason I think that plays a significant role in all of this.
