Preaching political ideology to kids is weird. No 6 year old needs to be handed anything political, especially on Halloween. Stick to candy. If you want to be the cool house, full candy bars from Sam’s or Costco
Then why do you tell them to switch genders at your teaching job

I wouldn't be upset, but I would assume that you are very, very weird.
And I say that as someone who is a strict constitutionalist.
Also who excepts some 9 year old dressed as Iron Man to stop the festivities to read the 3rd Amendment. 99% of those kids will throw it aside

It's crazy that only one side believes in the constitution and the other side thinks it's "political ideology."
Check my post history to see which side I’m on.
Too many nutcases trying to indoctrinate kids on the left, and now yall wanting to indoctrinate kids too. Let them be children and be innocent like when you were kids

If your porch light is on during trick or treat hours on Halloween, you have 100% solicited their coming to you for candy and nothing else.
False.
Anytime you step on MY PROPERTY of any reason, I control the narrative. My porch light could be on for safety sake, not an invitaion to get a "treat". You are coming to me asking for a "treat". Seems like I get do decided what a "treat" entails. We usually do a big candy treat bag for the kids. We're usually dressed up and outside and you don't have to knock on our door. We've also included a short printed bible verse in there in the past. If that offends you, remember, you came to MY house asking me for a "treat".

The constitution is not. Handing out pocket copies of it at Halloween is political ideology

The Constitution protects everyone regardless of their beliefs. Why would handing out educational material that protects everyone be construed as political speech?

Because you’re inserting your view of politics into a non-political event. Halloween is about letting kids have some fun. Keep politics out of it

If there is no context to it, and it's just a pamphlet, how do they know my political beliefs? You're assuming them.

You could also be handing out pamphlets on abortion facts or any number of other politically related issues. It doesn’t matter that you think it’s harmless or something they should learn about. What you think doesn’t matter on Halloween, it’s a night for kids to have fun and not worry about what adults want

But in the case of the constitution, that's not what you're handing out. You're handing out the ultimate law of the land. That's something that's more valuable than candy which will be gone in a couple of days.

Again, what you think doesn’t matter, stop inserting your wants into places where they don’t belong. Let kids be kids. You’re just gonna look like a weird fricker to most well-adjusted people anyway

To make things clear, I'm not handing out Constitutions.
But if someone were to do so, it doesn't stop kids from being kids or take away from their halloween fun. It’s is simply adding something meaningful alongside the fun. Nobody’s harmed, and if parents or kids don’t want it, they can just toss it. That’s their choice.
Remember they came to a house asking for a gift, and they were given one.

As a parent, keep your political ideologies to yourself Mr/Ms Teacher, Coach, Neighbor, Librarian. I don't care what side you fall on, my kid shouldnt know.

Indoctrinate by handing them a copy of the constitution?
Edit: I think giving out constitutions to kids 12 and under trucker or treating is stupid. But it’s not indoctrination - unless you think only one side believe the constitution and therefore think someone is trying to indoctrinate them to that side.

Maybe they're illegal aliens and don't know the rights afforded to them by that document? Maybe they're trying to indoctrinate them into being Americans?

Supposedly a homeowner in Baton Rouge used to hand out the Pocket Constitutionalist to trick-or-treaters.

Are the bags of candy Almond Joy?
One of the overlooked benefits of getting older was acquiring a taste for coconut and almonds.
As a child I hated them. I never would have realized that I actually like Almond Joys as an adult if not for Halloween. My kids gladly hand over any and all Almond Joys they receive. The sweet crunchiness immediately satisfies my craving for sweets.
