I just wonder what someone would get out of shooting a hibernating bear.

Not sure. I've done a little guiding before and I'll tell you there are lots of people who are thrilled with pictures and maybe a skin and don't care how its done.
I'll never understand that kind of "hunting" because it's not. It's just shooting.

They killed three bears out of season if he shot a sleeping sow or even all 3 in a few months no one would care or know about it.

To be fair, I dont think the son shot the bears. I know he probably would have, but the dad did all the shooting. He can take a prison dick for all I care, and I feel bad that the son has a shitty father. Thats my $.02.
