There is a 'hidden' gem out there that rarely gets talked about. Ive played Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club off of 30A a couple times and it is always in good shape. The layout will surprise you as it has decent elevation changes so close to the coast.

Worth a try.

Quality course. If you're just looking for a good place to play while at the beach, its a good place to go.

Kelly Plantation is my favorite down there.

Mine too but I think they are on temporary greens. Kinda glad I am skipping Destin this year because I would be if I made a trip there and it was like that. Regatta and the SanDestin courses are nice though.

I played Kelly 3 weeks ago. It was their first day on temp greens. the green fee was 1/2 price though. we still played it because we made the tee time in advance and just didnt feel like going somewhere else. I played it, emerald bay, and regatta bay 2 or 3 years before. regatta was great, emerald was in terrible shape and kelly was my favorite. Number 4 is unreal scenery. Anyway, i asked the guys at kelly, after my round, what was the best course to play. they all said emerald bay. I said man i played a few years ago and it was in terrible shape. they said that EB had done a complete overhaul to the course and it was now a really great course. i did not get a chance to play it though. And FWIW, i too, enjoy the raven as well.

Burnt Pine, Camp Creek & Sharks tooth are the tops.

Followed in order by

Raven
Regatta
Kelley

Not bad courses, but definitely not in the above categories;

Sandestin Links
Indian Bayou

Not my personal favorites, but still not bad

Emerald Bay
Seascape
Santa Rosa Golf

Raven, Baytowne and Links at Sandestin currently have a special deal going on. Pay Raven - $159, Baytowne - $119, Links $109 and get a dozen Pro V1 golf balls for fee.

After paying those green fees, I would hardly say those balls are free!
That being said, I love playing the Sandestin courses.
