A Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed in the McDonald’s parking lot in the 8000 block of DeSiard Street Tuesday morning, according to airport manager Ron Phillips, who was on scene.

He said there have been no reports of injuries, but the condition of the plane was serious.

“It looks in pretty bad shape,” Phillips said

The only person on board was the pilot. The pilot was extricated from the plane but there is no immediate update on the pilot’s condition.

Beechcraft Bonanza is the same make and model of plane that crashed in Richwood in January 2013 and resulted in the deaths of four people. Pilot error was ruled as the probable cause of the crash.

The two breaking stories both on TV8 and Newsstar were bank robbery at Ouchita Valley CU and plane crash at Micky D's. Probably not related, but good timing on the bank robbers part.

Just demonstrating his right to carry a non-concealed airplane into the restaurant of his choice.
