Yeah

This is what every jackass says before their precious maims someone

We get it. Nothing can ever go wrong.

No. The fact you even have one is a certified a-hole badge.

Would you have preferred that I left her unattended, free to roam the streets, and possibly attack someone due to fear or abuse?

With me, she is in a safe environment, in a fenced-in yard, and is an inside dog.

I am a responsible dog owner, but if it makes you feel better to call me a certified a-hole, continue on.

Euthanized

I prefer euthanized

I can only legally end them if they cross my property line here which is too bad.

You do what you think is best for you and I will do what I believe is best for me.

These threads bring out the badasses. My pit is almost 9 years old. He’s the best dog I’ve ever owned. He’s lazy, but will manage a sprint to get after a rodent in the backyard. He’s an inside couch-potato.

Mr. Rye probably wouldn’t fire a shot. In the unlikely event that he does, the stories posted on here make pits out to be the fastest of sprinters and the strongest of jaws. I can’t imagine his pea shooter could stop such a monster.

They’ve had a big year of killing and eating old ladies.

I don't fault any breed. It's the owner that is most likely the problem. Of course, I have great respect for breeds that can cause a tremendous amount of damage, but a Pit today is no more dangerous that a German Shephard of the 70s, Dobie of the 80s, Rottweiler of the 90s, and so on and on.

Your car thread (pre-covid) has been an awesome guide to me, multiple times now.

However, pit bulls are just a bad idea man. You’ll never convince me otherwise.

Glad I could help you and others. Times have certainly changed since COVID. Some of the things I mentioned previously in my car buying post have definitely changed.

I understand why you might feel that way. I wasn't always a fan either, but it was because of my own fear and insecurities and not understanding the breed as well as I do today. I'm not saying this breed is for everyone (or anyone), but I can say that for as many horror stories that you do hear about them, you don't hear anything about the breed that bites the most --- the Golden Retriever.

Granted, I haven't heard of any Golden Retriever bite deaths either, but in terms of attacks, the Pitbull is not the most prone breed to attack.

The issue is that when Pitbulls attack, unlike other dogs, they leave people severely injured or worse. It’s just not worth the risk to own one imo.

I’ve had friends who have had them before kids, and they were the sweetest dogs you’d ever meet. They promised to never give them up, and were awesome owners. After kids though, they made a pact to give up the dogs if they ever shows any sign of aggression to their kids. Well, that day came, and the dog was sent to another family.

You can never 100% trust any animal, but when Pits attack, due to their strength and tenacity, they leave a much higher percentage of bite trauma than other breeds.

100% agree..

Pit bulls and other breeds that are bred to be guardian attack and destroy type of dogs need to be eradicated. The entire population of them. I don’t care if the one down the street guards any toddler or let’s little baby girl pull on her ears without doing anything.

Remove and euthanize the dog. It’s only a matter of time before they snap and kill someone.
