I do wonder, if those who hate pitbulls can touch on this subject. Specifically those who think they should all be exterminated. Pits are frequently found in poor neighborhoods ,they are a dog of the lower class, they are a 'tough' breed of dog that acts as a deterrent/intimidation.

Wouldn't the people that own these 'tough' breeds just look to another dangerous breed if this one was banned? Rottweilers or Dobermanns? Which are dangerous if mistreated and abused.

They already do, but alas those dogs don’t kill as often as pits

Isn't that more to do with the number of "lower class" people that own these dogs which would increase the chances of it happening?

When a pit bull attacks another person, the owner should be put in jailI

I am a witness...

One of my dogs is a rescue, part pit, and awesome. He was severely abused and found starved with cigarette burns on him, and now he’s a well fed and happy pup.

He wouldn’t hurt a fly, and acts submissive towards smaller dogs because he fears he’s going to be abused again.

We are dealing with a very low intelligence group here with lots of pre-formulated hate and bias they are unable to see past. Don't expect anything of substance or an actual conversation on the topic.

Dobermanns

Hey man, let's leave this awesome breed out of this topic of conversation.

Thank you.

And it's spelled Doberman.

Almost all breeds of dog can be dangerous, especially if mistreated. The issue is that pit bulls attack more fequently and more importantly, more ferociously.

Most breeds will bite, with big breeds causing serious injury, but pit bulls try to kill and they don’t stop. It’s in the genes.

Not really. And when Rottweilers were super popular and overbred, they were all over the news. Not pitbulls

Pugs are def excluded...unless you count this as an assault

I do own a pitbull, she's 6 years old. I understand the consequences of having one but probably won't get another, I got her to prove a point about it being the owner, not the dog.

I had her broken by a professional before she was four months (got at 6 weeks) and I work with her weekly on her commands (about 20). When we are out on her walk. I've had people pick up their children or cross the street to avoid us when they see she is off leash. it doesn't bother me because I can't compete with a mother's protective instinct. It's human nature.

I've changed people's opinions about pitbulls and I've also had people who will never change their minds about them. It is what it is. Two things should be true of anyone who has a dog,I know my attention is always on my dog when out of the house and I would never leave a child alone with any dog, thats asinine in itself.

Sweet pit bulls with good owners would never hurt a fly, until they do.

If the ghettos load up on rotts or dobermans as replacements and same shite happens at same rate and results, then kill them too.

My dogs genetics are to point at game. Even though I haven’t trained her she does it on her own. Pit bulls genetics are to kill. No one needs to chance owning a pit bull.

The situation you describe is an extreme, unreasonably favorable set of circumstances, and it still doesn't eliminate the genetic predisposition the breed has toward attacking and killing.
