The same arguments made for pitbulls are made for guns. Both are fricking stupid.

Owners that have dogs that attack others should be at fault and charged. Just because you see sensationalized news stories about school shootings and a kid getting mauled doesn't mean we should ban guns and mass kill dogs.

Both have the capability of causing death/harm (albeit rare). It is up to the responsibility of the owners to ensure that these instances stay rare so that people who want to defend themselves and/or have them for fun (hunting and having a doggo as a companion) can do so.
