Pits don't kill kids! Pit owners kill kids!

So shitty lab owners just dont exist? They are all raised in loving homes? Help me out here... Pit Bull owners are the ONLY dog owners that have a faction that are completely shitty? Is that correct? Because if its not the breed why arent there raging Labradors running around despite being the most popular breed in the country by far?

I mean, I don't know what to tell you bro, but I just gave a link to a thread I posted in the first of this month where a 4 year old little Alabama girl was attacked and killed by a shepherd and lab.
would you like to compare numbers to lab and pit attacks?
Posted on 3/27/14 at 8:22 am to Catman88
Labs (I own one) are def capable of snapping at a kid to check them.....they don't snap at them then try to eat and destroy them.

I would say that the number of labs in the country outnumber pits 5:1 at least. 23 years as the most popular dog in the US.
And Im sure you had to DIG to find A single story.
Now go google Pit Bull deaths
Are you saying that there is only a handful of shitty Lab owners in the US? How can it NOT be the breed?

Only if we compare the numbers of labs to all of the different pit variants and mixes of pits in popularity in America, and only if we look at the owners, and who gets these dogs so often, as in the hunter wanting a bird dog, or the ghetto garbage and trailer park trash looking to have a dog to show how tough THEY are.

You are comparing the ability to kill with propensity to attack. Stay in a lane if you would like to make a point.

sure, we can also include all the lab mixes and varients

Yet, the kennel clubs only recognize but one specific variant of pit bull, the Stratford Terrier. I'd say the numbers are skewed, but the real truth is found in perceptions of the breed today compared to yesterday when the breed was seen as America's dog, and especially a kid's dog. A vicious wild killer would never be seen as that, and certainly wouldn't be marketed or used as a brand for a company if that were the case, and it isn't.

And suburban middle class homes, along with pits, yet the point is not to use the dog to show how tough a human is, but to own and love on a dog. It's the human.

You cant be serious.. The #1 dog in the US vs what the #76th most popular dog.
You think there are more variants and mixes of pit bulls that Labradors? Seriously?
You think the #1 dog in Livingston Parish is a Pit Bull and not a Lab?
The difference is the Labrador BREED is a gentle BREED. It has nothing to do with the freaking owners. Its is possible for one to snap but its rare. A gentle breed placed in the hands of a shitty person will still lead to in most cases a gentle dog. However an aggressive breed placed in the hands of a shitty person will lead to disaster.
The denominating factor isnt the owner its the breed of the dog.

The breed that was once a great pet has been used by unscrupulous breeders to produce dogs used to fight.....and now the breed has a well deserved reputation as a viscous animal. That's part of its attraction to complete fools and hood rats.
Responsible Pit owners have to choose their breeders carefully and learn to accept some criticism from the neighbors, who are justified in worrying about their family without knowing either the dog or the owner very well.

I'm serious when I say that many variants of pits aren't even considered pits at all, and that in 28 states, it's still in their top 3 most popular breed.

So then what happens with a good owner and a aggressive breed?

this
my neighbor loves adopting dogs, and they recently adopted a pit, and of course, they assure me that it is a gentle dog
but forgive me for being nervous for them having such a powerful dog so close to my house with a 10 month old daughter that they do not know the background

A Pellet Gun can kill a person if shot right. So can a a shotgun. You are trying to argue that two things are equal when they are clearly not.

Oh, so it's now an argument over an "Assault Dog" and a "Hunting Dog" kind of like the assault rifle and hunting rifle argument. Nice!
