I hate when I walk thru a parking lot minding my own business, when I walk past a pickup truck and this big arse pitbull on a leash jumps up out of nowhere and is hell bent to get my arse. After you clean out your drawers, you really want to shoot the frick'n dog.

I think there is one thing that people should pay attention to the most in this video. How calm the pit bull was after the owner get it away from the dog it attacked.

Those dogs can have a mild temperament, but they just snap. So it really doesn't matter how sweet your pit bull is or that it has never given you a reason to think it is a threat. This is why you don't let them around you 1 year old child (I say child specifically because I remember there was someone on the board who said their pit bull loves their little kid, blah blah).

Like all kids do, you never know when it will grab the pit bull and all of a sudden it will snap and go after the kid.. And the damage it could cause that child.

Never been a PitBull fan. I guess mainly because some were used for dog fighting down here.

The dogs have some legitimate uses (hog dogs). But, it is scary how much more common they become, and there aren't a lot of dog owners who know how to handle the aggressive ones.

I agree with you OweO. Wtf... haha

I have a pit, but I wouldn't keep him if I had a small child.

But, they don't "snap" per say. That would be saying it is completely not like them. Attacking prey is very much like them. They have the most instinctual predatory response I've ever seen. Lots of them were made for it. If you have one, keep it on a short leash. If you can't hold the pit back, don't have one. Most people shouldn't have them.

I'd hate to be a wild hog getting ripped apart by a group of pitbulls - whose owners look right out of the movie "Deliverance".

I only know what I hear and/or read, but from what I understand, a big part of the problem with the breed is that there are a lot of breeders out there who are not exactly all that ethical. They are breeding dogs from the same litter (incest) and.. I don't know if this is all that common, but evidently some people try to get a bigger pit bull by breeding them with a dog like a rottweiler, then breed the mix dogs with pit bulls.

Years ago, someone a friend of mine knew, was going to a dog fight and told him to come along. He said he went out of curiosity and prepared to see.. Well, dogs brutally fighting.. But said it was much worse than what he prepared himself for. He said there was a fight in progress when he got there and after it was over he had to leave. Anyway, the guy he was with was the one who told him about the rottweiler breeding things.. but my point is.. You really have no idea what blood line you are getting.. And there is just too much of a risk to not be concerned about those type of things.

With that said, I think a pure breed pit bull is a pretty dog and if I lived the right environment, I would get one.. But..

As a dog sitter for years the only breed that has attacked my dogs have been pitbulls.
Happened this weekend again and I'm starting to lose count of the times.

I let a guy hunt hogs on my farm. He's college educated and is a sweet guy. The hogs tear up everything and his family has a lot of land near or next to mine. He's far from Deliverance looking.

If you even THINK your dog is going to act like that and go after other animals, then muzzle the damn thing before leaving the house.

Personally, I wouldn't have a dog that just attacked other dogs for the hell of it. It's one thing to defend itself, but to chew up on small animals like that is unnecessary.

you're not helping the problem. Hogs are a nuisance and are incredibly invasive

True.... we killed about 35 with rifles over corn feeders. Didn't put a dent in the population. 1200 acres can hold a lot of hogs.

Shithead dogs for shithead owners. It sucks that they don't kill each other.
