Labrador retrievers are far more common than pit bulls in the United States. Yet pit bulls account for 80% of bites and more than 20 deaths per year on average. Sorry about your mental disabilities.

Are you trying to say that pure breed pits don't kill kids? Please, buy a clue.

No, I know it can happen. What I'm saying is you purposely left facts out to fit your shite narrative. I see threads about it all the time on here but they're either mixed breeds or they claim they're pitbulls, yet they weight 100lbs (not a pitbull). I can't remember the last time I clicked on one here and it was really an APBT.

You say you know it can happen. You mean that you know it does happen. ALL dogs bite. Why would anyone want a dog that, if and when it does bite, can kill someone? Because they are an idiot.

pitbull owners who's dog kills another person should receive serious prison time. like a bare minimum felony conviction of at least 20 years.

these people are beyond reprehensible and are some of the most dangerous in society because of their stubborn ignorance of owning such a dangerous animal. it all boils down to their "can't be told nothing" attitude they have about the pitbull breed. idiots.

Should that go for any breed? If a German shepherd kills someone? A rottweiler? Standard poodle?

This. American Pit Bull Terriers are not human aggressive, yet they get thrown into the same group as other breeds. Studies with gentic testing have shown up to 60% of dogs in shelters that they claim are Pit Bulls, aren't even Pit Bulls. It's all about how they are raised either way.

misguided and outdated belief that a dog’s behavior can be predetermined by his appearance.

I love the freedom loving 2A Baws on the OT that scream 'punish the crime' and 'shall not be infringed' , etc. The Baws that think irresponsibility should be punished.

Responsible dog owners with well trained dogs are the ones that seem to end up being tread on.

Great logical response, but pit bulls are the greatest OT circle jerk.

Your logic and facts are meaningless here.

Misguided and outdated? ...well, if the behavior is killing, it can certainly be predetermined by his appearance if it's a Pit Bull.. ...and facts have predetermined the breed will kill over twice as many people as all German Shepherds, plus all Dobermans, plus all Rottweilers, plus all other breeds, combined.

Any dog will nip or bite to stop or warn you from hurting them if you antagonize it enough. Pit Bulls are the only breed that kills people in grossly disproportionate numbers compared to all other breeds combined.

Really?? ...I haven't seen that but wouldn't be any surprise... since there are between 20O million and 300 million handguns in the US.

In contrast, Pit Bulls account for only 6.5% of all dogs.. ... but that 6.5% is responsible for nearly 70% of the deaths of people killed by all dogs.

Total Killed in the US By Dog Breed, from Forbes Magazine:

I just like to be consistent.

Why don’t we focus more on the owners responsibility of the dog’s behavior and punish appropriately, Instead of stepping on the freedoms of responsible owners of well mannered dogs?
