I had it in May 3 years in a row. A physician's assistant made the observation that it was likely due to allergies. I started taking zyrtec and flonase daily and haven't had it in decades. Haven't had sinus infections either.

What else causes it besides just being a gross person and direct bootyhole contact?

Did you go to the opthamalogist just before the first time?

That's where I got it once...and the only time I ever did...in both eyes.

You talk about suck.

You should warn the guy who said Teedy was riding on his face instead of working.

I had a sinus infection push through an eye. Had gunked up eye in the morning after dealing with sinuses. Dr said pink eye, but not bacterial. Got a shot and a z pack and was fine after a day

Holy shite.

I've had this watery itching eye for a day or so. I've got a swelled eye bag as well. I've never had pink eye, but apparently I've got it now.

Do I need to go to the Dr? I swear I haven't been eating any arse.

Pink eye can be bacterial or viral. If it’s bacterial, antibiotic drops can cure it quickly. If it’s viral, antibiotic drops don’t help nor hurt, That’s why non-ophthalmologists often prescribe antibiotics. Unfortunately, it’s viral 90% of the time. There’s no cure for this type; I usually prescribe antibiotic/steroid combo, which makes the eye feel better until it resolves. Cold compresses also help.

It spreads by touch, and can live on dry surfaces for a while; doorknobs, phones, steering wheels, etc. There are probably many times when we have the germs on our hands, and if you happen to rub your eyes when your hands are infected, you get pink eye. So, if you’re around someone with pink eye, wipe down surfaces, wash your hands a lot, and try not to rub your eyes.
