Pink Cadillac not your style? Mary Kay adds Mini to incentives

Since the iconic incentive car first debuted in 1969, nothing said, “I am a successful Mary Kay sales associate” more than a pink Cadillac. And part of the reason is because pink is such an unusual car color in the United States.

Pink actually used to be a signature color on mid-century cars like the Chevy Bel Air and Cadillac Fleetwood and is still fairly common in Japan, Korea, and Germany, according to The Newswheel.

But economic recessions in the late 20th and early 21st centuries led U.S. car buyers to play it safe with more conservative colors, thinking of their vehicle's resale value.

It took me a while to figure out who would order a pink car. Didn’t realize those things were a Mary Kay award to the people on top of their pyramid.
