Any of you attended North Highlands (in Baton Rouge)? I did for a short time around '74 or so. It's gone now and just a grass lot.

That “little church” in Chackbay. Today just a pile of wood remains as the church collapsed some time ago.

I’ve eaten there many a time, hard to beat.

I would love to know what year this picture was taken. Those things were so much fun! The girls would get on the platform, the boys would get it spinning as fast we could, then jump on, and hang on. We would wait for it to come to a dead stop and do it all over again. Yeah, occasionally someone would be flung off or trampled but that was all part of the fun.

When I was stationed in San Antonio, we were told that the space shuttle would be stopping to be refueled on its way to Florida and that if we wanted to go watch it we could, so me and a bunch of my friends went and I had zero idea of big that damn thing was until I saw it on the back of a 747.

Watched the Shuttle piggy backed on a 747 circling downtown Shreveport from the Petroleum Club before landing at Barksdale. It was kind of surreal.

That thing was a death trap but we rode it all the time and liked busting our arse when we were flung off.

One of friend's parents had a garish setup similar to this. They were fixing us mixed drinks in high school.

I had friends with the exact same type of parents. Basement decor was very similar. It seems to be a common theme with those parents. (Not to say I didn't frequent their home.)
