Dang, wish we had the Daddy saddle back when my boys were toddlers.

We would just get the dog to sit, have one of the kids hug him from behind, and then someone would call him. None of my kids lasted 8 seconds.

This is a very bad idea! They are vicious little bastards who fling poo everywhere! They will also satisfy their won sexual urges any place and any time it strikes their fancy!

Dad had one. For a day. He gave it away quickly to one of his co-worker's sons. They kept it for nearly thirty years, but only because they didn't have the heart to kill the little effer.

My best friend's parents also had one in the 1960s. They had invited a group over for lunch after church one Sunday. Everyone was sitting in the living room enjoying cake and coffee after lunch when the little prosimian bastard strutted right to the middle of the floor, reached behind himself and pooped in his hand, brought the turd around to show everyone, then took a bite out of it and spike it like a football on the carpet and strutted off to the next room to sexually molest the family cat.

Monkeys are decidedly a poor choice for a pet! No wonder the Russian Space Agency launched the only one they had into orbit on a rocket! They were probably hoping it would land in the US!

Carswell AFB 1966

I find this picture odd because it looks like everything in on display. Back in that day the SR71 Blackbird was Top Secret and was never left out for viewing.

A friend of mine who was a Vietnam era AF veteran told me the SR71 would taxi out of its hanger and take off immediately and return the same way.

Landing place for problem children or kids too stupid not to flunk and have to repeat in a hard private school. Stunned there isn't an ad for Marion Military Institute in there. It's where my dumbass friends ended up.

This is Unsinkable Sam aka Oscar, a cat that served with the Kriegsmarine (navy of Nazi Germany) and the Royal Navy (navy of the UK) during World War 2.

He was reported to have belonged to a sailor onboard the German battleship Bismarck. On May 18, 1941, Bismarck was on its first mission when it was sunk by the Allies. Out of the 2,100 crew members onboard, only 115 men and one cat survived.

The HMS Cossack scooped up the cat and gave him the name Oscar. For the next few months, Oscar lived on the ship until it was hit by torpedoes from a German U-boat, which killed 159 crew members but not Oscar, who was brought to the shores of Gibraltar by the remaining survivors.

Oscar was soon transferred to the HMS Ark Royal where he was given the name, "Unsinkable Sam". Ironically, the Ark Royal was heavily involved in the sinking of the Bismark. After a series of near misses, the ship had garnered a reputation for being a "lucky ship", however its luck would soon run out.

On November 14, 1941, the Ark Royal was torpedoed by a U-boat, causing it to roll over and sink. Sam was found clinging to a piece of wood and was described as "angry, but quite unharmed".

The sinking of the Ark Royal ended Sam's career at sea and he lived out his remaining years in Belfast with a seaman until 1955.

Mount Rushmore was originally supposed to be much larger and more elaborate than it is. Here, the monument’s designer, Gutzon Borglum is seen scrutinizing the scale model in 1926. Only the heads were completed, as the project ran out of money.
