Memphis airport in the early 1990s as a bustling passenger hub.
As airlines consolidated, airports in Memphis, New Orleans, and St. Louis were "de-hubbed". Delta merged with Northwest; then de-hubbed Memphis in 2013.

the most realistic thing about that movie "The Aviator," was that Hughes was always pulling money out of his own pocket to keep Teeny Weeny afloat, we absorbed that charity case of an airline right before 9/11, was a boon for TWA employees as there would have been no jobs for them if the other two bidders(Icahn and Davis, I think,) had been successful in obtaining them, greatly stymied thousands of careers at AA

People piss and moan today about current economics, they should go through what people had during the depression.. Assholes don't realize how good we have it today. It breaks my heart to see that little girl smile even though she's living in that shitty situation.
