My great aunt lived a short walk from Charleston's Battery Park when I was a kid. I always spent a few weeks of summer with her. I spent many a day climbing the cannons in that park.

Lincoln had ordered ironclads to attack Fort Sumter, but the fort's big guns sank the Keokuk.
